!! Hi!!!! Caramba!!!!!!

As my Sister finds that I am stuck at home for too long. She and Her husband decided to buy us tickets For the Biggest , Greatest Fireworks display in the country!!!!!! (So, I see it and they Say!!!....)

The Funny bit was the Ultimatum!!!! We couldn't say no!!!! So, it was last Saturday we, got ready with several layers of clothing, (it was Freezing cold!!!), and away we go to Lake Meadows in Billericay.

We arrived when the Gigantic bonfire was lit, It was so big, that we were standing 50 yards away and could still feel the Heat........

The ones I left at home, wanted to see the fight between Nikolai Valuev & David Haye, (David and Goliath), and so did I.

We manage to see the entire show and still be home to watch the fight and what a fight!!!! Enjoy the fireworks display.

Diogo's Mum Rice Pudding

OMG!!! I haven't had the time to Blogg, we have been around getting our workshops ready, so everything has been very quiete,webwise, so, sorry for the lack of updates.

Diogo just asked me to type up my rice pudding receipy for a friend who desperately wants it, so I thought I should share it.
here it is:

Diogo's Mum Rice Pudding

Ingredients:
4 pints of milk
1 heaped (Soup) spoon of Custard Powder
Sugar to taste
2 Cinnamon Sticks
2 Lemon peel, (outside peel, cut like potato peel)a slight pinch of Salt only.(note: if over salt it, it will hold a bad taste, so its just a pinch)
1 Hand full of Rice. (put your hand inside the bag and grab hold of the most rice you can by closing you hand, let the excess fall as you hold tight)

Start by putting 2 pints of milk, salt pinch, cinnamon sticks and lemon peel, in a pan, bring it to boiling point, (milk rises very quickly, be careful not to let it spill, as burnt milk has a foul smell and you will be short in fluids at the end).

Add the rice, and stir often, always taking care not to let it raise above the edges of the pan. You will have a load of fluid and some rice scattered, that is how it should be. Its ready for the next step when rice is over cooked, (very puffy and soft).

At this stage add another pint of milk, (only when rice is cooked enough, if you were to add the sugar or cold milk before the rice is cooked enough, the rice would stop cooking and remain hard/rubbery). Add the sugar to taste, Diogo love's it sweet , just like his brothers and remaining family, so we make it very sweet, about 250gm of sugar. However each person may have different sugar tastes, so add sugar to taste, (after adding the desired sugar you can always try a bit of the sauce/milk to see if it is enough or you require more).

Let it boil for about 5 minutes in slow temperature, (enough to keep it boiling).

Meanwhile get a tall bowl, pour in the remaining pint of milk, and add the heaped spoon of custard, (you may add an extra leveled spoon of custard powder if you want it really creamy), mix well, as often it sticks to the bottom of the bowl, so make sure it has completely disolved.

Once the 5 minutes or so have passed pour in the custard mix. Bring it to the boil again, it should now be a lovely yellow creamy substance, ready... steady... Eat....., (when hot it may upset your bowels, so let it cool off, remember to lick the pan, (using a spoon of course).

You need to pour it immediately into containers, individual or not. Container/s need to be taller rather than wider, to keep it creamy and avoiding to dry off. You can then powder the top of the rice pudding with grounded cinnamon.

From your first time confectioning it, you can then adjust the amounts of custard, milk, and sugar to your own liking's. If you have guests and want to impress just double or triple the ingredients and make enough for everyone. I always do 12 pints of milk, as they are many, and love it.

You can also work with half water half milk, but will not be as creamy.

Little Secret: if you ever manage to get to a Portuguese supermarket or you travel to Portugal, replace the English custard with: "Leite Creme"-Brand "Royal" , you will then be hooked for life.

Good Afternoon everyone!!!!!

Hope you all had a great Easter!!!! Mine was lovely,as usal with the house full of my children, their families and my sister and her Family. It was a JOY, and will cost me another few pounds from all the Sweets.

But as I use to say, we all go to the same place afterwards, so lets enjoy life to the full with chocolate and all!!!

Having said all this, I am very emotional and I often cry for peopes disgraces and miseries, JADE GOODY, for instance was a role mother for me and she was brought up to this world to make a difference, so, for a higher purpose!!!!!! Even so, I was never able to fully read the news paper stories, (I collected them all, even the stupid Hello! magazine who published a tribute with the poor girl alive.), but I have cried rivers, as a mother................Bless her!!!!

NOW, for me to bring this video to you, its because its good!!!! and again made my eyes water, and suspended my breath..........

Well!!!! They feature a openning at the back where you can access the guts of it, you can then stick anyones name, photo, hairs, nail clipps whatever "turns you on".

THEY sell well as a relaxing aid to release stress by pricking or squeezing the doll, the doll then realeses his lavender scent, well know for its aromatherapy goodness of calming and relaxing.

So all in all, you will have a symbolic Voodoo doll, which will really help you with aromatherapy properties, and mental therapy by discharging all your afflictions on the doll.

Dolls are soft to the touch and are decorated with beads, embroidery, buttons, patches, safety pins, buttons etc. No 2 are the same as they are handmade and unique.

I have been ultra busy with the wedding preparations. Well I guess that is all my fault cause I love to work on a thousand things at the same time.

You see! The crafter getting married is My little sister....................over 30 now LOL........, (did I just say little?!! did I just say over 30? Oh!! God that will leave you thinking I am agedddddddddddddd...... nah nah nah!!! (just turned 18 last October, LOL).

Well!! this to say I am doing the favours

and they're Gorgeous!!! But then, I want to list them and show the world how cute they are.

For a change she will be giving her guests,

Organic Lavender, (from my own crops), Pansy Pouch. which will be filled with Organic lavender and stuffing.

Usually Favours are boring and all the same, a little thing that you just tuck away in a drawer, or some sweets in an organza bag, or little box.

all in all, its all ways something that you will not be using and its the end of it. So, the Bride and Groom would've spent a fortune for nothing. With my pouches, Ai!!! caramba!!!!! Your Guests will use them, now doubt!

They can, hang it on a hanger, perhaps the dress or suit that was used to go to your wedding, they can use it under the pillow for added relaxation, they can stick it in a drawer for added aroma or even in the car, hanging by the rear mirror, in the toilet, you name it...... Important is that your favours will not be forgotten and regarded as money to waste.

OK!! OK!! My daughter is already screaming in my ears that she wants a load of them in Pink or Blue, (depending if is going to be boy or girl, or both LOL), for the baby Showers.

Here it is a GALO DE BARCELOS, Barcelos is town of the Venture/Weather Roosters.

This one came from Portugal, but instead of being made in Barcelos, is made in CALDAS da RAINHA, !Cock's Land" where willies are made out o clay in a very folk fashion.

I will eventualy post link so you guys can have a look. Its a Legacy and no other like such..........

As most of you know we are Portuguese, well so today in Portugal we celebrate St. Martin's Day, (well it shouldn't really be translated and the original name is, Sao Martinho).

How we celebrate?!!!!! tha you don't want to know...........specially cause once I am done here I will be cooking some lovely chestnuts.

OK!! OK!! (I can hear you saying go on...), so here it goes:

-Fresh Rose Wine, (brewed specially for this time of the year, traditionally called Agua Pé-Beware of imitations)

-Cured Pork Belly
-Olive Oil
-Olives

Most importantly Chestnuts, (boiled,Roasted or fried, you should have your table set and wait any guests that may visit tonight)

So, I am in for a great night...........

Because we live in UK, Chestnuts are extremely expensive, so we have it in smaller quantities, rather than the 10kg+ we would buy if we were in Portugal. But still we have the fun.

Instead of the typical Pork belly we have a great diner with Pork chops, Sangria, and chestnuts...........

We still love it...........

OK, guys here it goes, we are hoping to bring to you the latest gossip about what we are doing.

All I can state for now is, we have:

a crafter who's bringing a new addition to the world..........hopefully in 7 months time

a crafter who's getting married next month............

a crafter who's working on making a new addition ASAP

a crafter who's working round the clock for Xmas sales

a crafter who's working on the Wedding favours , bouquets , flower decorations etc.

a crafter who's working on the Ring Cushion for the wedding..........

We will start bringing photos of the relevant work to our blogger for now I can show you the favours. We can and will obviously accept orders for baby showers, baptism, weddings, hen parties etc...........just get in touch with us.
